Wake Up! It’s Time to be You!

Wake Up! It’s Time to be You!

I was a typical, rebellious, and always-in-need-of-more-sleep, teenager. My mother had a heck of a time getting me out of bed in the morning – or even the afternoon on weekends. Perhaps you can relate. Perhaps you can hear that voice that called you repeatedly, “Wake up. You’ll be late for school.” Or, as I would often hear, “Wake up. The early bird catches the worm.” Like I had any intention of eating worms!

Today, I wake up before the sun rises. It’s something that happens to some of us as we enter our golden years. Maybe they’re golden because we’ve started catching those worms. I don’t know, but I do know it’s time to wake up. Not because it’s time for school. Not because there are worms to catch. But because it’s time to be you.

“I am awake.” You say. How could I be anything other than me?” You ask. But are you truly awake to who you really are? Are you awake to all that you are intended to be? Are you awake and catching the unique and glorious role you play in the grander scheme of life?

You are an individualized expression of the Divine. You are an integral part of a greater whole. Everything you think, do and say is vital to the life and well being of the whole. It is impossible to be separate from this wholeness. But you can, and many of us often are, asleep to it.

We live in a world that functions on separation. What we see with our physical eyes and experience with our physical feelings tells us – no – convinces us that we are alone, completely independent from one another. But this is not the truth of you.

I watched a video yesterday of an aerial view of trees moving in the breeze. It was a fascinating image. The trees moved in such unison they appeared to be one organism, breathing in absolute harmony. In essence, they are exactly that; one organism breathing in harmony. Yet, from our everyday perspective, each one appears to be a separate tree.

So it is with our human expressions of life; one organism appearing as separate beings, having unique shapes, sizes, and personalities. Yet, from a higher perspective, all are one living, breathing expression of the Essence of Life.

When you are truly awake to your role in this magnificent whole, you can no longer feel alone. You lose the desire to judge, to fight, or to be better-than. Instead, you desire and exude harmony. Your harmonizing efforts may seem small at first, unimportant, unproductive. But every thought, every movement, every action stimulates a reaction in the whole. Like a tree responding to the wind, its movement creating an additional breeze influencing the movement of the one next to it, what you do stimulates a response from the person next to you.

Our world has been moving in a state of disharmony long enough. Nothing that you do in this life is as vital as recognizing the power of the Divine within you and living from this awakened state of being. When you reawaken every single day, every single moment and breathe this harmonized thought into expression, you make a difference in the world around you. As harmony is reflected back to you, your understanding and desire for unity increases and you move in even greater harmony. The feeling and awareness grow.

It’s time. It’s past time. Wake up and be you. The world needs you right now.

“God in the midst…

I trust in You.” Job 13:15

The story of Job is one of challenge after challenge. It is one of trouble, sorrow and pain, ultimately met with a deep and abiding Trust in God.  It is this ultimate and complete Trust in God that we are called to in times of great challenge and conflict, for without it our troubles may seem insurmountable, too big to handle.  Our sense of well-being and peace may seem eternally lost. But it is WITH GOd that “all things are possible.” When we trust that the underlying Source of Life is continuously conspiring for our ultimate good, for the good of ALL beings, we find peace in the midst of any disturbance. To trust is to rely on, to expect that our needs will be met, to know that whatever is occurring is only a step in the ongoing process of returning to wholeness and oneness WITH God.

AFFIRMATION: One WITH the One Power, One Presence, One Activity, God the Good, I find Peace in the midst.

I REMEMBER

breath-cc-16193758604_c24b91a8cc_mWhen I REMEMBER I become one with what may seem to have come apart. In the greater picture, nothing is ever disconnected, but in my mind or perception something may appear that way.  I may feel disconnected from my spiritual nature.  I may have lost touch with cherished memories.  I may have lost touch with friends or loved ones by a move, a change of workplace, a conflict, or their transition from the physical realm. Whatever the cause, I have the ability to REMEMBER and draw the essence of that relationship into my conscious awareness.  I can REMEMBER the sweetness of the first meeting with a beloved spouse.  I can REMEMBER the first moment I held my precious child in my arms.  I can REMEMBER the great joy of a childhood friendship.  And in that moment, I reconnect. I experience oneness once again with what seemed lost, separate or grown apart.  I once again feel the great gift of connection.  And, I can REMEMBER that I am one with all beings; one with the Source of all things, one with the Allness of God.  And in that holy instant I am REMEMBERED; all parts once again whole. In that moment I know that all members, all parts of the whole, all moments in time, all feelings, qualities and blessings are forever one in the mind and heart of God and I am enormously blessed and instantly made whole.

The Breath of God

breath-cc-16193758604_c24b91a8cc_mBREATH, the air that is inhaled and exhaled is evidence of the miraculous interconnectedness of all life.  The BREATH I hold in this moment, is the breath you exhaled only moments before.  The BREATH I release will soon be held be another.  BREATH and Spirit are synonymous, both having the same meaning and origins.  The first BREATH is the BREATH of God and we each continue to draw in and release the original BREATH.  We are one with God, one with all that is, in a continuous exchange of the invisible substance of Spirit.  God BREATHES through me and God BREATHES through you.  BREATH is Spirit moving, creating, blessing, cleansing, renewing and revitalizing.  This is a miracle of Life and all I have to do to experience it is BREATHE.

The Laser Beam in Me

laser-cc-845829930_15187093dc_qA LASER, an extraordinary focused beam of Light has truly miraculous capabilities.  Simple waves of Light that usually bounce off of objects of matter, become capable of cutting through the densest structures of steel.  The same powerful LASER beam is capable of the most delicate and intricate medical procedures, isolating and dissolving unhealthy cells or tumors without disturbing the surrounding tissues.  Even the delicate structure of the human eye can be treated with a LASER to improve or restore eyesight.  Like LASER beams, we too are made of Light and we too can achieve miraculous results by focusing and concentrating our thoughts and awareness on that which we wish to experience.  Faith is the tool that gathers the Light in us, Prayer and Affirmations concentrate our awareness, dissolving what is not aligned with the Light in us.  Through this heightened and focused awareness, we can cut through seemingly immovable obstacles.  We can perform the intricate procedure of dissolving thoughts and beliefs that keep us small.  Through the focused awareness of ourselves as Light, as offspring of the Light of God, we become like LASERs, cutting through the delicate veil that separates the world of form from the vastness of Beingness; and suddenly, we see with pinpoint accuracy, the Oneness of God that has always there all along.  The LASER beam of Light focused on God shining through, reveals the Kingdom of the Heavens that has surrounded us from the beginning but we have failed to see.

The Divine Hologram

hologram-cc-1569468739_b7ca26acca_qHOLOGRAMS allow us to see an image captured on a 2-dimensional surface with a 3-dimensional perception.  HOLOGRAMS miraculously display what is 2-dimensional as a 3-dimensional image.  A HOLOGRAM torn in two will reveal the exact same complete image on both pieces.  In fact, the HOLOGRAM divided into a million pieces would still reveal the complete image on every piece.  Like a HOLOGRAM, each of us contain the entire image of God.  As spiritual beings, continually evolving, we expand and multiply into billions of expressions of the Divine.  Yet we are one continuous, complete image of the Divine ever-longing to return to the state of wholeness from which we have burst forth.  What is truly miraculous is that even in the state of what appears to be separation, expansion that draws us apart, we are still one, whole and complete. When gazing upon one another from a God’s eye view, even the space between is miraculously imbued with the image of the Divine.  The appearance of empty space is an illusion as there can be no space where God is not.  A HOLOGRAM is a miraculous manifestation of the nature of humankind as one with the image and likeness of the Divine.

A Positive Side of Fear?

fear-cc-2406378075_568feb9133_q-jpgFEAR is not usually considered a miracle.  Yet, FEAR has two very different sides or characteristics.  There is the FEAR generated by the ego and fueled by outer conditions, past experiences and the collective stream of FEAR consciousness. This FEAR is destructive, immobilizing and is a very long way from what one might consider a miracle.  But there is another side to FEAR.  FEAR in its intended expression is the voice of inner guidance, intuition.  It is a higher awareness calling out and keeping us from walking into the path of an approaching train or speeding vehicle.  This FEAR moves us gently out of harm’s way and reminds us to seek inner guidance.  It reminds us that we are never alone and that peace and harmony are just one thought, one dimension away.  This FEAR reminds us to close our eyes to appearances, close our ears to resounding gongs and clanging symbols, and seek the shelter of Divine Love where wisdom speaks with clarity, harmony and oneness.

A Miracle A Day, Day 94

MIRROR.CC.26473288921_86c1832d80_mMIRRORS provide us with the opportunity to see ourselves as others see us.  That first moment when humankind caught a glimpse of self in a still pond must have been an amazing experience.  There would have been an instant of recognition of the self being much like the others in the clan, yet somehow different and distinct.  MIRRORS that reflect our physical appearance give us that opportunity today; a glimpse of the self as a similar, yet unique member of the human experience. Metaphorical MIRRORS provided by other people in our lives reflect characteristics we may not have noticed or owned about ourselves. These are MIRRORS that help us grow and evolve in self-awareness. But there is yet another type of MIRROR that reflects much more than our physical being.  There is an inner MIRROR that gives us a view of who we are beyond our physical appearance.  Because it is within however, does not make it small.  Instead, this is a MIRROR without limit.  It might be called a “cosmic” MIRROR, one which reflects the image and likeness of God in us.  This MIRROR sees through the physical being and beyond the perceived limitations and cultural baggage we might carry.  This MIRROR allows us to see ourselves as a member of an infinite, ever-expanding clan of consciousness, yet a unique and individualized expression in it.  This is a reflection that lifts us into seeing and being all that we are meant to be.  MIRRORS are miraculous and they are all around us and deep within us.

A Miracle A Day, Day 92

WORDS.CC.2308990881_ef3cebf330_qWORDS, our ability to form them and use them are a miracle.  The human mind is capable of forming and using an infinite number of words, each presenting us with a vast variety of interpretations.  Yet each word begins with an original intention or idea.  Each word created and formed then spoken is meant to connect, to find a common understanding of something.  Each spoken word creates a vibration in the universe and attracts to it like vibrations. Words of love and kindness attract love and kindness.  Words of anger and judgment create a stream of dense vibrations that block the higher vibrations of love and kindness.  According to the Gospel of John, all the manifest world is the result of the “Word” that was with God in the beginning.  God is Love. The Word is Love. This is a vibration that expands and multiplies and presents us with an infinite variety of experiences and interpretations.  Yet behind this one Word lies one original intention; the expansion and expression of Love.  The Word is the miracle that manifests as you and I. The WORDS we use and form are indeed miracles when we align the thoughts and ideas behind them with this original WORD.

A Miracle A Day, Day 91

roots.cc.ReflectedSerendipity.475890948_4657e915a4_qROOTS.  A Tree or plant is nurtured by its roots which absorb nutrients and moisture from the soil in which is planted.  This is the miracle of nature, the miracle of life; seeking, growing, expanding, thriving and then being fruitful and multiplying.  Like a tree, I have roots. When I get back to my roots, I get back to that which feeds me, that which nourishes me.  When the roots of a tree are trimmed, the tree responds.  An expertly trimmed bonsai will result in an exquisite replication of the roots.

My roots may sometimes grow in cramped places. I may get root bound. Or, I may trim what is no longer needed in the roots of my consciousness and see an exquisite result in my life.  I may choose to return to my spiritual roots and be nourished in body, mind and soul.  My spiritual roots are never bound, they are infinitely and unequivocally intertwined with the wholeness of God.  When I get back to this point of origin, to the wholeness of God from which I spring forth and expand, I am nourished, fortified and revitalized.  I find the space to grow and expand.  In the stillness I discover that all that I need, I already am; for I am an expression of God in the face and form of what I call me.  Reaching in to this place of wholeness, I am fed, I am nourished, I am whole and I am free.  ROOTS are the miracle that keep me infinitely entwined with the heart and mind of God.
