A Miracle A Day, Day 67

OnenessONENESS is the miracle that underlies all of Life.  A miracle is defined as something unexpected that transcends physical law.  Certainly, in a world where we are continually bombarded with evidence of our differences, the notion that we are all ONE is an astonishing idea.  And yet, it is true.  Although we inhabit separate bodies that are infinitely unique, we each spring forth from the same Source of Life.  We are first, spiritual beings and second, physical beings.  In Spirit, we are ONE.  Awareness of ONENESS in the midst of diversity is the key to transcending the experience of conflict.  If ONENESS is true, conflict with another is conflict with ourselves.  If peace and harmony are our deepest desire, then peace and harmony with ourselves can bring peace and harmony to the whole.  To live in an awareness of ONENESS is to recognize that all we project on another we project on ourselves.  When Jesus spoke about loving our neighbor as ourselves he was acknowledging the miraculous truth of ONENESS, for to love another IS loving ourselves, and this is the key to living from Heaven consciousness.

A Miracle A Day, Day 66

FEET.dreamstimefree_89710FEET are the miraculous extremity upon which we stand and walk.  An ingenious collection of bones, muscles and tendons, our FEET support our bodies and carry us from one place to another.  Our FEET connect us to the ground, physically and energetically.  In the book of Exodus, God tells Moses to remove the sandals from his FEET, for the ground where is stands is holy ground.  As our understanding of God expands, we recognize God as omnipresent and discover that all ground is holy ground.  What keeps us from experiencing the place where we stand as holy, is anything we place between us and what is sacred and whole.  If we are to leave a place of bondage and limitation, we must remove the sandals from our FEET. To remove the energetic sandals, would be to remove anything that separates us from an awareness of oneness with God and the sacredness of life.  Our FEET are designed to stand and to walk fearlessly in the assurance that wherever we go, wherever we walk, God is and all is well.

A Miracle A Day, Day 65

HAIR.CC.FLICKER.9419227780_a54578ce96_m.jpgHAIR in its many colors and textures is a richly unique and self-expressive physical characteristic.  HAIR is miraculous in its ability to protect us from harsh elements and it ability to interpret the environment and communicate a variety to signals to the brain.  It may stand on end when there is a potential for danger or send a ripple of wonder through us at an especially synchronous moment.  HAIR may send a tingling sensation through the entire body when particularly moving words, thoughts or experiences connect us with an awareness of something greater than ourselves.  HAIR is an extension of both the physical and the energetic body.  Metaphysically, HAIR symbolizes our thoughts and the energy patterns we exude. Even those with no hair on their heads emanate strands of thought energy. In Luke 12:7 Jesus says, “But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid …” If we consider HAIR as thoughts, we might find the statement unsettling, as if each thought was predestined by an esoteric God.  However, when we consider God as indwelling and everywhere present, we discover the divine nature within that precedes all thought, all experience, all that we have come to believe about ourselves.  This is a Self that knows our joy. This is a Self that know our pain.  And this is a Self that knew us before we were born, before there was anything but the perfect pattern of wholeness at the very root of being.  Perhaps HAIR is simply the physical manifestation of our reaching out from the very root of our being and perhaps this root is a Self that would be worth getting to know.

A Miracle A Day, Day 61

chakra-waterWATER, a pliable, movable and vitally necessary substance is a miracle supporting and sustaining life on planet earth.  WATER can be moved through, floated upon, directed. purified, and utilized to sustain a healthy life. WATER is also powerful.  Falling from a high cliff to a stream or river below it creates both the beauty and power that can be harnessed to provide electricity.  Overflowing rivers, lakes and drains it can demolish everything in its path.  WATER is powerful and it is vital to our existence.  It is essentially invisible yet reflects color and images from the atmosphere surrounding it. Lakes and oceans appear to be blue, reflecting the color refracted off droplets in the air.  Up to 60% of our adult bodies are made up of water.  The color blue can also be seen by aura photography to reflect our energy in varying degrees from the area of the throat chakra and to some extent from the area of the third eye. It seems we share some of the qualities of WATER. Our thoughts and words, like WATER often reflect the atmosphere surrounding us. They can be moved, floated upon, directed, purified and utilized to sustain a healthy attitude.  When the atmosphere of life seems dark and gray, I can shift my thoughts and radiate a more vibrant energy, a more positive outlook.  I can expect a miracle.  Even when WATER pours through a hole in my roof or comes flooding into my home it is still a miracle.  If it seems to be something else, I remember that everything is a miracle and I affirm the good that exists just beyond my vision. I bless the water as I redirect it and then ponder the possibilities of the miracle left in its wake.  WATER is a miracle and so am I.

A Miracle A Day, Day 55

bee.dreamstimefree_97143HONEY BEES, once prolific become more scarce each day.  These miraculous little creatures perform a mighty work of service, providing honey for all sorts of purposes, spreading pollen from plant to plant in an endless buzz of activity and delivering wax used for candles, artwork and countless other human endeavors.   Imagine how vital these creatures were to early civilization. Without caring for them there would have been no candlelight by which to read and sew and converse after sunset.  Without them vast amounts of food sources would have become extinct.  They are just as vital to us today.  They ask little in return; simply some safe and sacred grounds for their nests. Don’t confuse these cooperative little friends with more aggressive species who strike for no reason.  They are a precious gift, seemingly unaware of the treasures they provide to humankind.  They give their gift by simply by BEEing themselves. Perhaps we too provide gifts to those around us by BEing our own unique individualized expression of God.  Be your True self. Share your gifts.  They are more vital to the world than you may know.  Give thanks for the miracle of the HONEY BEE, a sacred partner in the delicate balance of earthly life.  Save a HONEY BEE today. Plant a flower.  Support a local BEE Keeping Club. Save a miracle today.

A Miracle A Day, Day 47

rock climbing.2425052047_37c19eac29_qRELEASE is the ability to let go of something or to cause something to be freed.  What a miraculous feeling it is to RELEASE a fear or thought that has held me captive.  As a new rock climbing enthusiast I can appreciate the physical ability to RELEASE one rock in order to grasp the next.  RELEASING my grip on the hold requires strength and faith.  I must build my muscles so I can reach, push and pull, but I must also trust that my partner and climbing equipment will keep me safe.  With the powers of strength and faith I let go of the rock I have held so tightly and grab the next one, climbing a little higher.   The same is true of my thoughts and fears and long-held limiting beliefs.  I must have strength and faith in the power and presence of Spirit to let go and let God.  As I RELEASE what I have held tightly; fear, judgment, pain, shame or blame, I find that the next and higher thought is right there within my grasp and I climb a little higher in mind and Spirit.  Yes, RELEASE is a miraculous quality of both the human experience and the spiritual evolution of my highest Self.

imageLife itself is a miracle, therefor every attribute of it is also a miracle. Today I contemplate the POWER of WILL. Different from will power which is engaged in the process of abstinence from something, the Power of WILL is my ability to align with a greater Will than my own. The power of WILL is the faculty I use to direct my thoughts, my words and my actions to achieve a specific outcome. It is also the faculty of choice. I can use my power of WILL to appease the needs of the ego, or I can choose a greater WILL that fulfills my innermost spiritual desires and contributes to the needs of the whole. What a joyful experience it is to align with Divine Will and BE the individualized expression of God that I am meant to be.

face-985964_960_720EMPATHY, the ability to share another’s feelings as if they are our own lifts us into a higher realm of consciousness that more fully manifests our oneness.  Aligned with this higher realm of principle, EMPATHY has all the attributes of a miracle. Last night I witnessed an incredible display of this aspect of human consciousness as hundreds, if not thousands of people responded to a prayer request on Facebook.  It was clear that everyone responding could feel the feelings of the person requesting prayer.  Each person could imagine themselves in the same experience.  The outpouring of love and prayer and affirmations for healing was incredible.  EMPATHY drew together a massive number of people into a common prayer intention.  In the words of Jesus “… where two or more of you are gathered in my name, there I AM…”  This drawing together through the power of EMPATHY made visible a conscious communion with the Christ in each responder.  The power of this collective prayer consciousness is right now manifesting in right and perfect ways, drawing the wholeness of those involved into visible form.  EMPATHY is a miracle that draws together that which is already one, so that our oneness in Spirit is made more visible.

zeal “I fairly sizzle with ZEAL and enthusiasm and I spring forth with a mighty faith to do the things that ought to be done by me!” Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, was 93 years old when he uttered this remarkable affirmation that continues spark an energetic response in me every time I hear it.  ZEAL is an innate spiritual faculty, miraculous in its power to move us from a state of inertia to purposeful and passionate action. ZEAL is a powerful energy and works best toward unfolding our higher good when it is filtered through the powers of Divine Love, Wisdom and sacred intention. Today I set an intention of blessing and I spring forth with ZEAL and ENTHUSIASM to bless the unfolding good in my life and in the world.

A Miracle A Day, Day 42

wellThe WELLSPRING within is the miracle of Oneness with Spirit, the source of Life, Harmony and Joy.  Deep within each of us is a place where joy never ceases, where peace and harmony are the constant state of being.  When we draw on this invisible Source, we access the Water of Life that Jesus spoke of to the Samaritan woman at the well.   This powerful conversation is often understood as Jesus’ demonstration of inclusiveness.  Although it is certainly that, the conversation reveals much more.  Ultimately, this conversation reveals a whole new perspective of God as Spirit, as comforter, as the quencher of all thirst. As we come to understand that the Christ Mind that was in Jesus is also in each of us we find that the WELLSPRING that quenches all thirst is within us and it never runs dry. This is the miracle we will explore at tonight’s Meditation and Metaphysical Musings service at Unity of Livonia at 7:00 pm.  Come rest awhile in the WELLSPRING within and experience the miracle within you.
